Top Superhero Films 2017

It seems like a good time to be a fan of superhero movies since a decent number of such movies has been released this year with a few to be released by the end of 2017. While some fans had higher expectations that were inevitably not met, others were thrilled by the way their favorite superheroes were portrayed.

By summer this year, six superhero movies have been released. Undoubtedly, both Marvel and DC are trying to produce more quality superhero films, but the final word belongs to the audience. We selected the top superhero films in 2017 based on many reviews and polls, so here are some of the best ones this year.

Logan

This is the last time that Hugh Jackman will appear as Wolverine, which is sad for all the fans of the franchise as the character and the actor have become synonymous to us. Logan was released March 3rd this year and was an instant success.

The plot does not involve saving the planet, but saving himself - Logan - instead. In this movie, Logan attempted to hide from the world and run away from his legacy, but failed to achieve this despite his efforts. If you enjoy western or revenge films, you will very likely enjoy this movie as well.

Wonder Woman

Another impressive blockbuster superhero movie released this year; Wonder Woman is a female-led movie with Gal Gadot as the lead actress. This was her first full-lead movie and she’s won the praises of critics who agree that she has done the Wonder Woman character justice. The film does manage to hold our attention all the way with its exciting plot and thrilling effects.

Gadot and Pine possess a certain charisma that is likely to amuse you and the chemistry between them is evident throughout the film. All in all, this film about a strong yet vulnerable woman has won over many hearts, securing a top spot in our 2017 round up.

Spider-Man: Homecoming

Homecoming is probably the best one of all the Spider-Man movies and undoubtedly, one of the top superhero films released this year - it’s everything we expected it to be and even more. It’s believable, exciting and features some pretty epic scenes.

Holland proved to be an excellent Peter Parker and we enjoyed watching him in this picture. Fun and excitement are both guaranteed throughout the entire movie and it’s impossible to get bored with the web-slinging superhero we all love.

Lego the Batman Movie

This fun movie featuring the adventures of the man-child version of Batman is one of the best superhero films released this year, justifying our expectations and perhaps exceeding them. The movie is a great commentary on superhero films in general, as well as on Batman movies.

It’s entertaining and suitable for all ages, alike and of course, filled with Batman references which fans will really enjoy. The Bruce Wayne of this film enjoys his solitude and spends his time alone rather than being part of a family again, which is actually one of his greatest fears.

An interesting twist is a moment when Bruce accidentally agrees to adopt a young orphan, desperate to have a family. The orphan child (played by Michael Cera) idolizes both Batman as well as Bruce Wayne and looks up to Bruce as the family he has finally found.

Moreover, they have an interesting dynamic relationship which can be pretty amusing at times. The Joker is interpreted by Zack Galifianakis, who amuses us with his twisted relationship with Batman, his long-time arch enemy.

Power Rangers

This movie rings a bell among many of us who grew up watching Power Rangers as these colorful heroes were a big deal for children back then. All its fans were undoubtedly thrilled to see this movie that was released earlier this year.

The movie does deliver and surprisingly, features some amusing and even humorous scenes. Overall, the audience seemed to be happy with it, although critics may have divided opinions.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

The first Guardians of the Galaxy was a tremendous success that won over audiences around the world and the sequel definitely does somewhat rely on that fame. What can be immediately noticed in this picture is the great energy and chemistry among the very amusing cast.

There are some very precious moments that will leave you in awe, although certain portions of the film might lack action, which isn’t such a big problem since it’s still entertaining. Overall, the movie is worth being listed among the top superhero movies of 2017. Most fans who have eagerly waited for this sequel of Guardians of the Galaxy were pretty satisfied.
